Sometimes, it can be tough coming up with ideas to entertain the kids when they are at home on school holidays. While it offers a break for both school children and parents alike, kids do get restless and need things to occupy their time.
If you’re searching for fun activities for children in Western Sydney during the July school holidays, then you might want to check out some of the school holiday activities taking place at DOOLEYS Clubs. There is always something happening for people of all ages but we also have some special events targeted at school holiday fun for both the kids and their parents.

#1 - The Live Reptile Show At DOOLEYS Lidcombe
During the last school holidays, DOOLEYS Lidcombe hosted the live reptile show and because it proved to be so popular, we’ve brought it back for the coming school break. This is a fantastic show that is sure to be enjoyed, so bring along the little ones on Wednesday 6 July. The show gets underway at 10.30 am and is sure to provide some thrills for the kids who attend.
Trained reptile handlers will be there to handle the reptiles and guide the children during the session. Kids will learn some interesting and educational facts about all the creatures on display as well as getting up close and personal with some of Australia’s most ancient wildlife.
If you’re wondering how much the live reptile show is going to cost, stop. The event is absolutely free but bookings are essential to ensure your child’s place on the day. Note that this event is only available to club members.
#2 - The DOOLEYS Lidcombe Build a Bear Interactive Workshop
This school holiday event kicks off at 10.30 am on Wednesday 13 July at DOOLEYS Lidcombe and is sure to be a hit with the kids. The first session runs for one hour and concludes at 11.30 am. If your child can’t make it in the morning, there is another session taking place between midday and 1.00 pm on the same day. - All Sold Out.
So, what exactly is the Build a Bear Interactive Workshop for kids?
For starters, it’s designed to be a lot of fun. Kids get to create and build their very own teddy bear. Not only is it a load of fun, but it’s also very educational and creative for the little ones. Pre-filled cuddly and furry friends are supplied for kids to adorn with a heart and their own personal creative touches. This is a school holiday event that you won’t want to miss if you have young children.
To ensure your child’s place in the Build a Bear Interactive Workshop, it’s important that you book ahead of time.
#3 - LED Hula Hooping At DOOLEYS Regents Park
DOOLEYS Lidcombe isn’t the only DOOLEYS Clubs venue to attend for school holidays fun. DOOLEYS Regents Park is hosting the LED Hula Hooping event on Saturday afternoon 9 July, kicking off at 2.00 pm.
Hula hooping is not just a thing of the past. These days, it has made a comeback and with a modern twist. LED hula hooping adds a touch of colour, light and excitement to hula hooping. Not only will the kids be entertained during the event, but they’ll also be getting some physical exercise while spinning their very own LED hula hoop. New skills and new friends are sure to be made on the day.
This is members only event and spots are limited, so be sure to make a booking beforehand for your child to attend.
#4 - Barefoot Bowls At DOOLEYS Regents Park
The whole family can get together during the school holidays on any day of the week except Wednesdays and Saturdays for some barefoot bowls fun at DOOLEYS Regents Park. The cost is only $10 for adults and $5 for kids, so give it a try and do something different these school holidays.
