DOOLEYS Helping Hands

DOOLEYS Helping Hand Program

At DOOLEYS, giving back is part of who we are, and our Helping Hand Program is how we turn that spirit into action. This corporate volunteer program encourages all staff to get hands-on in the community, supporting causes and organisations that make a real difference across Western Sydney and beyond.

In 2024–2025, our dedicated team volunteered an incredible 275 hours of their time, which is an 88% increase from the previous year. From serving meals at Parramatta Mission, assisting families at Ronald McDonald House, caring for animals with the RSPCA, and supporting survivors through Escabags, our staff have shown what community spirit truly looks like.

Through the Helping Hand Program, we’re proud to empower our people to connect, contribute, and create meaningful impact. Every hour volunteered strengthens our shared commitment to building a more caring, inclusive, and resilient community.

Some of the charities we have volunteered with are

  • Sydney Childrens Christmas Party

  • Barnardos Christmas Fair

  • Ronald McDonald House Charities

  • Parramatta Mission

  • Escabags

  • RSPCA

  • Vinnies

  • Cumberland Council

LifeBlood

DOOLEYS is proud to support the Australian Red Cross Lifeblood, an organisation dedicated to providing life-saving blood and plasma donations to those in need across Australia. Through our ongoing partnership, we aim to help strengthen this vital service while encouraging our staff, members, and community to take part in something that truly changes lives.

Over the past year, DOOLEYS employees have made regular group donations at both the Parramatta and Sydney Town Hall donor centres, collectively helping to save 132 lives. This achievement reflects the compassion and commitment of our team, who continue to give their time to support others in meaningful ways.

We encourage everyone in our community to consider becoming a donor. A single donation can make a profound difference to someone in need, and together, our collective efforts can help ensure that every Australian who needs blood receives it.

DOOLEYS Members and Staff are encouraged to join Team Dooleys – book your donation today by calling 13 14 95 or visit lifeblood.com.au

Domestic and Family Violence Action Plan

At DOOLEYS, we’re committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for everyone—our staff, members, and visitors. In 2025, we launched our Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) Action Plan to take meaningful action against one of Australia’s most urgent social issues.

Domestic and family violence affects people from all backgrounds. As a trusted employer and community hub in Western Sydney, we recognise our responsibility to support those impacted and help drive change.

What Is the DFV Action Plan?

Our DFV Action Plan is a strategic framework that outlines how DOOLEYS will:

  • Prevent violence through education and awareness
  • Support individuals impacted by DFV
  • Promote respectful relationships and inclusive workplace culture
  • Partner with community organisations to amplify support

All DOOLEYS staff are undergoing DFV awareness training to ensure they can recognise signs of abuse, respond with empathy, and access support pathways safely and confidently.

Our Three Pillars of Action

The DFV Action Plan is built around three key pillars: Empowerment, Advocate, and Partnership. Each reflects our values and guides our commitments.

1. EMPOWERMENT

We educate and equip our team to take informed action and foster a culture of safety and respect.

Our Commitments:

  • DFV awareness training for all staff
  • Discreet “escape” bags for staff and patrons in need
  • DFV information hub on staff intranet for easy access to support resources

2. ADVOCATE

We use our voice and influence to challenge harmful attitudes and promote long-term change.

Our Commitments:

  • Clear DFV workplace policy outlining our stance and procedures
  • Permanent DFV signage in staff and patron areas with pathways to help
  • Active participation in campaigns like “16 Days of Activism” and Clubs For Community initiatives

3. PARTNERSHIP

We collaborate with community organisations and diverse groups to ensure our support is inclusive and impactful.

Our Commitments:

  • Referral resources for staff (housing, counselling, financial aid)
  • Prioritising DFV organisations in ClubGRANTS, donations, and sponsorships
  • Feedback systems to evaluate DFV initiatives
  • Partnerships with CALD, LGBTQ+, and Aboriginal-led services in Cumberland

A Message to Our Community

Whether you're visiting DOOLEYS or considering joining our team, know that you’re entering a space that prioritises safety, compassion, and accountability. Our DFV Action Plan is a living commitment, one that grows with our community and reflects our values.

If you ever need support or information, help is available. You are not alone.
