DOOLEYS is excited to announce the club has been honoured with a premier award in the Education Vibrancy & Culture category at the 2026 Clubs & Community Awards, held at ICC Sydney on Thursday 11 June.

The event, hosted by ClubsNSW, gathered more than 900 guests from government, industry, and community sectors to celebrate the outstanding social contributions of clubs across New South Wales.

DOOLEYS was recognised for supporting the Preventing Family Abuse Through Education program, delivered in partnership with the Child Abuse Prevention Service (CAPS). The initiative safeguards children and empowers families through education, teaching personal safety rules to children aged 3–7 while providing practical training for parents and educators on risk indicators, disclosure responses, and mandatory reporting. It also includes culturally attuned sessions for migrant and refugee women and girls to help them understand their rights and local support pathways.

The pilot program, backed by an $80,000 DOOLEYS commitment, was rigorously evaluated by the Australian Institute of Health Innovation at Macquarie University, showing tangible improvements in knowledge, confidence, and protective strategies among educators, parents, and participants. CAPS has worked since 1953 to protect children and prevent domestic violence, focusing on early intervention and education to create safer environments.

“To be recognised at a state level is a massive honour. Our team is dedicated to supporting our local community, and this award is a testament to the hard work and passion of our staff and members,” said Jason White, Community Manager at DOOLEYS.

About the Clubs & Community Awards: The Clubs & Community Awards are a state-wide recognition of the exceptional contributions made by registered clubs in New South Wales, celebrating achievements in areas such as education, health, sport, and community wellbeing.
