03 April 2023

Western Sydney is a vast region filled with many different suburbs. There is always something to see and do and countless ways to keep yourself entertained; whether you live in the area or are just visiting.

Social clubs have always been popular in Sydney’s West, whether they be types of social clubs to enhance fitness, or social and entertainment clubs. There are also social clubs that cater to various hobbies, sports and other interest groups. With this in mind, let’s look at some different types of social clubs in Lidcombe and surrounding areas, so you can discover the best social club for you to join in Western Sydney.

Social and Entertainment Clubs

DOOLEYS Clubs are fine examples of fantastic social and entertainment venues available in Sydney’s Western Suburbs. DOOLEYS has two venues in Lidcombe and Regents Park and a Health+Fitness Centre. Our clubs are entertainment hubs that offer incredible dining experiences at affordable prices, along with entertainment and events every day of the year.

DOOLEYS Clubs are family-friendly environments and we often host special events for the little ones during school holidays.

If you want to enjoy a great meal, kick back with some drinks and be treated to live entertainment, then social and entertainment clubs are perfect for you. They can also offer a gateway to other fantastic social clubs. For example, being a DOOLEYS member allows you access to loads of other social clubs that cater to a variety of different interests and we’ll take a closer look at some of those now.

Ladies Indoor Bowls Is Trending

Very similar to outdoor lawn bowls except played indoors on a special carpet, ladies indoor bowls has experienced a meteoric rise in recent years around Australia. Indoor bowls is a lot of fun and also a great way to make new friends. Get Lured Into a Fishing Club

Fishing has long been a favourite pastime for many Australians. However, fishing can often be a solitary and somewhat lonely experience. If you want to inject more life and interest into your fishing experiences, it might be time to join an organised fishing social club.

One major advantage of any social club is the sharing of knowledge. Whether you’re a novice angler or a professional, there is always something you can learn from others and you can also pass on any knowledge that you have.

DOOLEYS has its very own fishing club, where anglers get together and charter a fishing boat monthly for fishing trips to locations such as Wollongong. Get out in the fresh sea air and share new fishing expeditions with other like-minded people.

As photography and digital cameras are rather technical in nature, one of the biggest advantages of a group situation is how much you’ll learn from other members when it comes to photography techniques and camera gear. You’ll also be able to share your own techniques and knowledge with others.

Some photography and camera clubs also offer photography lessons and workshops, such as our very own DOOLEYS Camera Club. We also hold annual exhibitions to showcase the talents of our group members.
