DOOLEYS Community Crossing Borders

24 March 2022

Community is at the heart of everything we do at DOOLEYS, and our community extends beyond state and international borders. We value compassion and respect and stand in solidarity with our community in times of need.

In response to the devastating humanitarian conflict happening right now in the Ukraine, the DOOLEYS Board of Directors have unanimously agreed to donate $50,000 in life-saving funds to the Ukraine Crisis Appeal.

The Ukraine Crisis Appeal is a collaboration between the Australian Federation of Ukrainian Organisations, Rotary Australia World Community Service, and Caritas Ukraine. DOOLEYS funding will assist millions of Ukrainians living through escalating violence as the conflict in the country worsens daily. Caritas is on the ground providing assistance for displaced persons, emergency shelters and essentials, transportation out of conflict zones, and psychosocial support.

The funds raised through this appeal will be used to provide immediate and longer-term humanitarian assistance to communities affected by the conflict in Ukraine, and to displaced Ukrainians in neighbouring countries. DOOLEYS are honoured to support the Ukraine Crisis Appeal and the on-the-ground work of Caritas, and share their Catholic mission of creating lasting change for all future generations.
